Trenton L
Carlson
Jun 30, 1954 — Jun 15, 2018
Trenton Lee Carlson, age 63 of Burnsville went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2018 after a very short suffering of liver cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Vern and May. Survived by his wife, Susan; children: Josh, Angie and Brady; brother, Del (Patty) Carlson; also by other relatives and many friends. Funeral service, 11 AM Friday, June 29, 2018 at South Suburban Free Church (12600 Johnny Cake Ridge Road), Apple Valley, MN. Visitation from 5-8 PM Thursday, June 28 at South Suburban Free Church and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Trent was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 30, 1954 to Vern and May Carlson. He was a graduate of Minnehaha Academy in 1972 and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1977. He married his beautiful wife, Susan on July 22, 1978 and they had three children.
Trent's professional calling in 1985 was to serve as a nursing home administrator for Elim Care, Inc., affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America. After serving Elim Homes in Watertown and Milaca, Trent and his family settled on a hobby farm in Columbus, MN in 1996. He then served as an administrator at New Harmony Care Center from 1996 until Friday, June 1, 2018.
Trent accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 20 years old, shortly before meeting Sue. Trent loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and strived to reflect this in his life. He was a very proactive, loving, fun, homeschooling daddy. He also had many other interests, including his hobby farm, being on his John Deere tractor, grilling year round, and extending hospitality to any number of people, from close friends and family to "entertaining angels unawares." He loved classical and jazz music along with a wide variety of Christian music. Trent had fun at the farm with whatever interests and homeschool events the kids were into, along with model trains and rockets, making lamps, family camping, and hiking. He also served church ministries in a variety of ways. He always "had a spare…just in case," reflecting his caregiving personality. We all miss him and look forward to joining Trent in Heaven someday.condolences www.whitefuneralhome.comFriday
