Apple Valley
Willerscheidt, Anton P., age 94+, of Apple Valley, MN, passed away peacefully at home, April 28, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Tony's life was the fulfillment of the American Dream. Tony's father Anton, at age 19, immigrated through Ellis Island to settle in Saint Paul, MN. Tony attended and graduated from Humboldt High school, where he began a lifelong relationship with the girl of his dreams, Phyllis. Tony began his working career as a clerk at Jordan Pharmacy. While doing so he also put himself through the University of Minnesota and was able to earn his bachelor's degree in pharmacy in 1954. This achievement was a first for his entire family. He then worked as a pharmacist at Jordan's until 1961 when he decided to open his own store "Anton Pharmacy" in Saint Paul. Tony owned and operated his store for 36 years, retiring in 1997.
Tony was active in small business and service organizations including Smith Dodd Business Association President, Dakota County Chamber association where he earned the S/D "Outstanding Service Award", Minnesota Pharmacy Association, West Saint Paul Jaycees and Kiwanis. His personal leadership and accomplishments through adversities inspired many in his family to further educational careers earning degrees in nursing, pharmacy, teaching, engineering, medicine and Masters and Doctorate degrees. Tony enjoyed time with his family, jokes and storytelling, sailing and outdoor beautification. He loved animals, especially his best (4-legged) friend Josie.
Tony is preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis, and daughter-in-law Cherie. Survived, by his sister: Mary Margaret, son: Tony (Nancy), daughters: Debbie (William), Mary Beth (Mike), Teresa and Nancy Kay; 15 Grandchildren, 25 Great-grandchildren with two more on the way, and other relatives and friends.
The Willerscheidt Family extends heartfelt gratitude to his team of professional caregivers including, Lori, Tina and Lucas, Right at Home personnel and Allina hospice providers.
