Arthur John
Didde
Sep 3, 1934 — Dec 4, 2025
Burnsville
Arthur John Didde, age 91, of Burnsville, passed away on December 4, 2025 in Burnsville, surrounded by his loved ones.
Arthur was born September 3, 1934 to Frank and Clara (Strutzel) Didde at the family farm house in Olpe, Kansas. He was raised on the family farm, where he developed his lifelong appreciation for hard work, the outdoors, farming and—most famously—John Deere tractors.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Robert, Marcella, Rosalie, and John. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Sally; children Richard, Michael, and Michelle (Raleigh); grandchildren Zachary (Angie), Andrew, Abigail, and Zekiel Neiss; and great-grandchildren Mable and Derek. He is also survived by his sister, Maybelle Scheetz, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Arthur will be best remembered for his deep love of early John Deere tractors and gardening, passions rooted in his childhood on the farm. Arthur was an over-the-road truck driver for 38 years; he drove over 3 million miles accident free and enjoyed meeting new friends along the way. He cherished his family above all else, taking pride in their achievements and surrounding them with steadfast support and affection. He also had a gift for conversation—Arthur never met a stranger. His warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at 11:00 AM, at Mary, Mother of the Church (3333 Cliff Road E, Burnsville, Minnesota). Visitation will take place one hour prior, from 10:00–11:00 AM, at the church.
Arthur will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery following the service and luncheon. Memorials will be forwarded by the family to some of Arthur's favorite charities in lieu of flowers.
