Audrey Belle
Fox
Mar 9, 1940 — Jul 9, 2026
Lakeville
Audrey was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose life was a testament to faith, resilience, kindness, generosity and God's grace.
She was born the second daughter, and third of 6 children. Audrey had a spark about her - a warmth and energy that drew people in.
After high school, Audrey attended business school and then trained as a nurse's aide and worked at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. Her adventurous spirit led her to live in Hawaii and later move to Arizona before eventually returning to Minnesota.
In 1967, she married the love of her life, Lyle Fox, and they built their life on the farm in Lamberton, where they raised their four daughters.
Audrey valued a well-kept home, good manners, integrity, compassion, generosity, and kindness toward others.
Audrey loved to bake and entertain, hosting card clubs and coffee parties and always welcomed family and friends who stopped by for a quick chat. She spent her summers utilizing the many gardens by freezing and canning, in preparation of homemade meals.
After moving from the farm, Audrey and Lyle continued to enjoy dancing, bowling, traveling, and socializing with friends. Audrey volunteered at the Methodist church and was often a caring presence for friends and neighbors who were sick, lonely, or in need.
Audrey and Lyle shared 36 years of marriage before Lyle's passing in 2004. In 2014, she moved to Hutchinson to be closer to family and to the community where she had grown up.
In 2016, she moved to Lakeville, where she enjoyed social gatherings, bingo, playing 500, working on puzzles, listening to music, going to the movie theater, and attending chapel.
She will be remembered for having the ability to strike up a conversation with almost anyone. Whether she was visiting with a lifelong friend or speaking with someone she had just met while waiting in line, she had a gift of making people feel noticed and seen. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity touched many lives.
Audrey is survived by her daughters, Jodie and husband Bill Sonterre of Lakeville, Mila and husband David Hirth of Plymouth, Melodie and husband David Karge of Mankato, and Kristie and husband Greg Weigel of Prior Lake,17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
