Girtz, Barbara Ann. "Barb" age 89, passed away on June 9, 2026. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Bill. Also proceeded in death by her parents, sister, and brother. She will be missed by her loving daughters: Becky Keily, Cindy Rogers, Wendi (Marty) Overlund and Shelly (Rick) Robohm. Barb enjoyed spending time with her 11 grandchildren: Angela (Brant) Hoekstra, Ryan (Katy) Cheney, Laura (Jason) Robbins, Eric (Lorelei) Rogers, Emily Rogers, Alyssa (Dave) Erlandson, Amy (Chris) Czyz, Josh Nelson, Andrea Nelson, Lynn (Brian) Booth, Michael (Morgan) Robohm and 15 great grandchildren: Cadie, Daniel, Sive, Cylas, Loken, Kellen, Leah Claire, Violet, Remy, Aubrey, Emilia,
Maxwell, Benny, Hazel and Marcus.
Barb was an accomplished bowler. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and winning at bingo. Barb was an enthusiastic Twins and Vikings fan. Her closet was filled with team shirts and blankets with the team logo. She rarely missed a game on television for either of her favorite teams.
Barb graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and then received an associate's degree in business accounting. She worked at Sears Robuck and Company for 25 years where she made many lifelong friends.
Barb and Bill enjoyed traveling their entire lives. They took their daughters on many camping and road trip vacations. With their extended friend groups, they took cruises, traveled together to concerts and sporting events. During their retirement years, they relocated to Texas and Arizona to spend the winters in a warmer climate. They expanded their travels outside the USA--visiting Australia, Africa and Germany to name a few.
Barb a was devoted Catholic and was very strong in her faith. She prayed the rosary and received Holy Communion even when she could no longer attend mass in person. Her faith gave her strength and peace throughout the ups and downs of her entire life. Barb is now reunited with her beloved Bill in heaven.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Mary, Mother of the Church, 3333 East Cliff Rd. Burnsville, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rosemount, MN, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM. Arrangements handled by White Funeral Home in Apple Valley, 952-432-2001. www.whitefuneralhomes.com
