Obituary

Bruce Edward Carlson passed away on Monday September 28, 2026 at the age of 70. He was born on September 04, 1956 to Bill and Gladys Carlson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Jo and his three children Tawny, Scott and Troy who all share his favorite pastimes. As well as his sisters Rondi and Sally who meant the world to him. Bruce was perceived in death by his older brother Doug. He looked up to him so much he died 20 years later on the exact same day.

Bruce spent his working years in the plastics industry. Later he moved on to the installation and service of coffee and tea machines. He started up his own company, BC Service 20 years ago and it was perfect for him because one of his greatest gifts was helping people and he definitely had a talent for fixing things.

One of the things Bruce treasured most was his friendships with so many people. He made friends easily and kept them throughout his lifetime. At ten years old, a new kid moved into the neighborhood and Bruce knocked on his door and asked if he wanted to ride bikes and a lifelong friendship began. Even to this day he kept in touch with friends he met when he was just six years old and they have been there for each other ever since. So many memories have been made stomping around Nine Mile Creek, especially with his dog Moose by his side. Bruce would be trying to jump across it on his stingray bike, not sure if he ever made it but he sure tried. He was very determined in that way. Back then you can only imagine how many smokes were taken from his mom and dad to pass out to friends to smoke up on cigar hill and see what other shenanigans they could get into down there.

His friends and family knew he was a "one of a kind" type of guy. A loyal and true friend, father, brother, uncle and husband who was always there for them no matter what. Let's not forget his quirky goofy side, where he was always up to a prank for a good laugh or giving really outrageous gifts. One of them being a picture to all of his family members of him touching the ‘great ball of twine’ with his autograph on the back. And also the time he gave a one year old a Menards rebate check for his birthday. Oh there are so many funny memories but not nearly enough room to write them all.

Bruce had a heart of pure gold and was loved by so many people. He loved listening to music, playing the guitar, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed puffing a cigar and drinking unsweetened tea. He will truly be missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 7th, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Monte Sinai Church 2201 W 108th St. Bloomington, MN 55431. (Nine Mile Elementary School) Lunch will be served and please bring your favorite memory of Bruce to help celebrate one truly unforgettable amazing guy.
