Rosemount
Bruno E. DiNella age 90 of Rosemount, MN was born, July 8, 1935. He passed peacefully into God's hands on July 15, 2025. He grew up in south Philadelphia, PA and attended parochial schools and an all-boys Catholic high school. At the age of 19, enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged in 1957 in Miami, FL. He remained in Florida, and married Mary Ann Ronan and started a family. They divorced after 16 years of marriage. In May of 1959 he began his career with Alitalia Airlines. He was transferred to Tampa, FL in 1967. While in Tampa, he was president of Bon Vivant, a social organization of airline employees. In 1980, he was promoted to district sales manager and transferred to Minneapolis, MN. He was elected president of the Minnesota Chapter of the International SKAL club. In 1986 he married Karen Hicks. He retired in 1991 from Alitalia Airlines after 32 years. His airline career allowed him to travel over 200 times to Italy and visit nearly every country in Europe. He also visited the Middle East, the Orient, Australia as well as North and South America. Upon his retirement from the airline, he began a new career with TR International, an Italian tour operator, where he continued his world traveling for the next 20 years. He fully retired in 2011.
His community involvement included an appointment to the Eagan, Minnesota Airport Relations Commission and upon relocating to Rosemount, Minnesota in 2004, was appointed commissioner to the Rosemount Port Authority, Planning and Zoning Board and a member of the Trustee Board. He also served as an election judge supervisor in both Eagan and Rosemount. In what he considered the most rewarding activity in his life was as a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement. For 12 years he visited several elementary schools in the southern suburbs teaching 4th graders about business and entrepreneurship. At age 75 he began his studies at Inver Hills Community College, graduating with an Associates of Arts degree in 2014 with high honors.
Bruno is survived by his wife Karen, first wife MaryAnn and children: Anthony (Pam), Jeannie (Steve) McCormick, Lucy (Eric) Holt, Vincent (Terry) and Martin (Amy), 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his brother Francis and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Mary and brother Ernest DiNella.
Memorial Service will held 11 AM Monday August 11, 2025 at Mary, Mother of the Church, 3333 east Cliff Rd., Burnsville, MN with a gathering of family and friends starting at 10 AM (In Lower Level Chapel)
