Carol was born August 31, 1940 in Hull, Iowa. She grew up on a farm near Little Rock, Iowa where she attended a rural one-room schoolhouse. She moved to Rochester, MN where she met Dave Heikes at First Baptist Church. They were married Dec 30, 1960 and moved to Mpls, MN. They then moved to farms in Rosemount, New Prague and Elko, MN. They raised their family on the farm and always enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends. Carol was known for her gracious hospitality. She especially loved to bake pies and her cinnamon rolls were famous. She loved to sew and many of us have quilts she created for us. Dave and Carol started attending Berean Baptist Church in 1966. Carol became the organist there and was the church organist for the next 58 years. She was also a part of the choir and sang with the "Happy Hearts". After Dave passed away Carol renewed her friendship with Aubrey Gray and married him in July 2023. Aubrey went to be with the Lord in 2024. Carol was a gifted musician and singer and loved to play hymns and have the family sing harmony. There was a lot of singing around her bed as she went home to be with Jesus.
