Daniel Joseph Huettl, age 78, of Lakeville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his
family on October 4, 2026.

After graduating high school from DeLaSalle, Dan began working at a sawmill in British
Columbia. Dan returned home and proudly graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Dan spent many years with Bell Industries as a marine distribution buying manager
before finishing his career and retiring from Hannay’s.

Dan had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. This was a passion he proudly passed on to his three boys. 
Some of his favorite moments were spent in the woods, on the water, or at the cabin. Dan loved telling stories from his past, and 
those memories will continue to be told by his sons and shared with his grandchildren.

More than anything, Dan’s greatest joy was his family. He treasured holidays together,
time at the cabin, and watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events
and activities. He never missed an opportunity to share how proud he was of each of his
grandchildren and how excited he was to see where life would take them. His pride in
his family was undeniable, and he wanted each of them to know just how deeply they
were loved.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Meryce (Ryan) Huettl, and his
brother, Tommy.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy (Cook); sons, Steve (Alyssa), Jimmy (Dawn), and Joe
(Libby); and his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Bailey, Brennan, Addie, Berkley, Easton,
Brekken, and Tobin.

Dan’s Celebration of Life will be held November 25 at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail, 
Lakeville, MN 55044. Visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m., with a short service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Following the service, please join us for Dan’s Happy Hour at Baldy’s Tailgate in Lakeville for food, drinks, 
stories, and a toast to a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Dan in a way he would have appreciated: 
spend time with the people you love, get outside, cast a line, tell a good story, and raise a glass in his memory.
