Obituary

David Lucast, age 78, of Burnsville, passed away on July 16, 2026.

David was a man deeply devoted to his country. A proud Army veteran, he served as a platoon leader in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice.

He was exceptionally hard‑working, remaining active until the final months of his life. David cherished time with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed gathering with friends, hosting bonfires, attending meat raffles, playing pull tabs, and spending time at Canterbury Park in Shakopee watching live racing.

David is survived by his daughters: Tracy Goetz, her husband Kevin Goetz. Kristi Lucast (Ben). His grandchildren Brynn and Tatum Goetz, and Kyngsten Lucast.
He is also survived by his brother Mike and Nancy Lucast, his brother Pat Lucast, and his sister Sue and Joe Hoffbeck.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave S., Burnsville, MN.
Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
