Diane Elaine
Geiger
Jun 27, 1942 — May 20, 2025
Apple Valley
Diane E. Geiger, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025.
Preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Helen Olson; and her sister Marlene. She is survived by her beloved husband Jim; daughter Jane; son James (Kelly); granddaughter Zoe; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Diane was a woman of many talents and deep compassion. A true entrepreneur, she co-founded her own business, taught Pilates and water aerobics, and created and managed the pet department at the family's hardware store—all while handling countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities with quiet dedication.
She was a loving mother and a devoted caretaker for seniors, reflecting her kind and nurturing spirit. Diane was deeply involved in her faith community, playing a vital role in the women's ministry at Bible Church in Chillicothe and later attending women's Bible study at Mercy Road Church, at the Crossroads in Minnesota. Worship was central to her life, and she especially treasured the times her son led music in church.
Diane had a gift for gathering people. She was a phenomenal entertainer and host—famous for her Christmas Eve fondue parties with Jim—and always ready with a perfectly timed joke. She warmly welcomed others, but when the clock struck 9 p.m., she never hesitated to let guests know the evening was over.
A lifelong animal lover, Diane fostered and adopted pets for over 40 years, bringing comfort and care to animals in need, and joy into her home.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Diane had a deep love for water. From fishing on Lake Mille Lacs with her son, to feeling the ocean sand between her toes, to tending the backyard koi pond she built with Jim on Beech Street in Chillicothe—water brought her peace and joy.
Despite facing significant health challenges in later years, Diane met every trial with resilience and optimism, remaining a positive light to everyone she encountered.
Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in her unwavering faith and trust that she is now with her Savior, embraced in eternal love.
