Dori Lynn
(Wolf) Chouinard
Sep 18, 1959 — Mar 17, 2026
Lakeville
Dori Lynn (Wolf) Chouinard age 66 of Lakeville Minnesota passed away March 17, 2026 at home surrounded by a group of friends and family. Dori fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, just shy of five years.
Born and raised in Minnesota. Dori attended and graduated from Faribault school for the Deaf. There she met future husband (Bob) Chouinard at a homecoming football game between Devalan school for the deaf in WI where Bob attended school and Faribault school for the deaf Mn where Dori attended. Being introduced by friends. The rest is history….. ❤️
They were married Oct 6-1990 until her passing. Bob took his vows seriously "In sickness and in health". He was always by Dori's side throughout her illness, tending to her every need. For that our family is very grateful.
Although they never had children, Dori was always delighted to play with the kids of friends and family. She would be over the moon happy when the kids would pick up on learning bits of sign language. She was always willing to teach them and thrilled when they signed back to her.
She loved taking family photos at holidays and other events. Usually making us do a few retakes as someone was always making a silly face that she did not approve of. But then a month later she would send us all copies of almost perfect family photos. Which we always appreciated getting, but usually never said thank you enough.
Dori and husband Bob were deeply rooted in the deaf community activities. They took cruises, snowmobiled, camped, along with many more activities of which the list is long. All geared for the hearing impaired. In retirement, they added a new one to the list. The monthly "Senior's Lunch for the Deaf".
SkipBo was the game of choice when visiting, accompanied by a dish of ice cream if it was evening.
Dori worked at the USDA for 34 years " United States Department of agriculture" A lifetime at the same job meant a lot to her.
Dori shared her smiles, energy and always giving heart to all that needed it.
"We love you to the Moon and Back"
