Douglas "Doug" Troy Moats, age 67, a longtime resident of Lakeville, MN, passed away on September 7, 2026.

Doug was born on May 9, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Mervin "Smokey" and Margaret "Jane" (Sharpe) Moats. A dedicated and hardworking professional, Doug gave 40+ years of service to SuperValu and Cub Foods. He took great pride in his career, starting from the ground floor bagging groceries and earning his way to a long, successful tenure as the manager of the produce department.

Doug shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Roberta (Saeger) Moats. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and laughter. Doug loved the outdoors and found peace while fishing and spending time in nature. He had a passion for cooking and grilling, an enduring love for music, and an exceptional talent for bringing joy to others through his endless jokes and storytelling. Above all, his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by his family.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan and sister, Sandy; brothers-in-law, Rod and Randy Saeger; his father-in-law, Robert Saeger.

His legacy of love and laughter will live on through his surviving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta; his sons, Matt (Cati) and Steve (Sharelle); and his three beloved grandchildren, Emma, Liam, and Henry. He also leaves behind his sisters Barb (Mike) Denardo, Diane (Mike) Rosenow, and Susie (Tom) Dunn; mother-in-law, Barbara Musil; his sisters-in-law, Shyla (Dennis) Kloosterman and Carrie Franzen; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 pm, family and friends are invited to share memories of Doug at 2 pm at the White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail., Lakeville, MN.
