9:30 - 11:00 am (Central time)
Douglas “Doug” Vetter, age 64, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, with his wife, Beth, by his side.
Doug was born on February 16, 1962, in Harvey, North Dakota, to Leonard and Beverly “Bev” Vetter. He grew up in Fessenden, North Dakota, and graduated from Fessenden High School in 1980. He went on to attend Jamestown College, where he played football and earned a degree in Business Administration in 1984.
On November 25, 1989, Doug married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Beth” Aman. Together, they made their home in Burnsville, Minnesota, where they raised their two daughters, Ashley and Paige. Doug began his career as an estimator at Valley Paving before spending 25 years working for UPS as a package handler at the airport.
Doug took pride in working hard, helping others, and putting his skills to good use whenever someone needed a hand. Whether helping with projects and repairs or spending years mowing lawns for several neighborhood ladies, he was always willing to give his time to others. Doug enjoyed boating, fishing, spending time outdoors, cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams, and traveling. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, Will and Lucy, who brought him tremendous joy.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Vetter; his daughters, Ashley Elizabeth Vetter (significant other, Nick Johnson and his daughter, Aubree 11) and Paige Rachelle Fruit (husband, Nick Fruit); his grandchildren, William “Will” Fruit (2) and Lucy Fruit (7 months); and his siblings, Kevin Vetter, Peggy Sundquist, Connie Wentz, and Lisa Best and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Beverly Vetter.
Doug will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories made with him will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 County Road 42, Burnsville, Minnesota. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church, prior to Mass.
