Edgar Alan "Ed" Mellenthin

Edgar "Ed" Alan Mellenthin, age 84, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, passed away on July 24th, 2026.
Ed was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He attended primary school in a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School with the class of 1959. After further schooling in Milwaukee, he began his career in the 1960s as a computer operator at Ford Motor Company, launching a long and successful career working with computers. In his second career, he spent the final 13 years of his working life as a driver for Schneider National, traveling the country. Ed loved the open road and truly enjoyed the journey. He was known for his easy-going manner and bright smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Mellenthin and Viola Mellenthin.
Ed is survived by his wife, Suzanne Mellenthin; son, Eric Mellenthin and his wife, Sarah Ann; daughter, Sara Brady and her husband, Sean; grandsons, Andrew and Nathan Mellenthin, and Chase Brady; sister, Judy Werth; niece, Kris Riley(Rob); and nephews, Tim Werth (Beth) and Michael Vienneau.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at White Funeral Home, 901 3rd Street, Farmington, MN 55024. A lunch will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Homestead Community Church, 344 3rd Street, Farmington, MN 55024.
