Fay Naaktgeboren, age 91, of Apple Valley, passed away on October 3, 2026.
Fay was born at home in Silver Creek, MN, on September 27, 1935, to Bastian and Eleanor Naaktgeboren. She enjoyed growing up on the farm, but as a young woman she moved to Minneapolis to pursue a career and live a full life as an independent woman. She worked for several small businesses and for the U.S. government until her retirement in 2003.
Fay loved nature, gardening, and a perfectly manicured yard. She loved long shopping at Cub Foods, where she made friends with several employees. Holidays were not complete without her delicious pumpkin, pecan, and lemon meringue pies, or her rutabagas. She enjoyed traveling, both across the U.S. and abroad. She fought cancer valiantly and won. For decades she was a dedicated member of Peace Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many dear family members and friends.
Fay is survived by her sister, Loy Jaeger; nephews and niece Paul (Kerrie) Jaeger, Patty (Keith) Kendall, and Charles (Linda) Jaeger; great-nephews Josh (Michelle) Jaeger, Jordan (Natasha Acuña) Jaeger, and Gregg Kendall; great-niece Leah Kendall; and great-great nieces Sarah Jaeger, Chloe Jaeger, and Azureth Tesoro. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Church, 2180 Glory Dr, Eagan, MN, on October 22, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.
The family is grateful to all those who stayed by Fay's side and took such loving care of her, to the MN Hospice staff, to the staff and fellow residents of Havenwood, to the staff at Peace Church, and to her old neighbors.
Memorials may be directed to Peace Church or Minnesota Hospice.
