Francis "Frank"
Paul Kremer
Nov 25, 1938 — Jul 10, 2022
Apple Valley
Francis P. Kremer, age 83, of Apple Valley, passed away on July 10, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine Kremer; brother, Art Kremer; sisters Irene Keller and Martha Zieglmeier; son-in-law, Todd Patrick; and granddaughter, Hailey Neumann. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Frank (or "Corky" as affectionately known by many family and friends) grew up in St. Cloud and attended Cathedral High School. He joined the U. S. Navy after high school, where he served our country as an aircraft mechanic, fixing planes such as the A-4 Skyhawk. Shortly after completing his four-year enlistment in the Navy, he returned to St. Cloud, where he soon met his future wife, JoAnn, at a dance hall. Frank continued his long career in aviation repair and maintenance in the private sector, working as both aircraft mechanic and in maintenance control operations for over 40 years with North Central, Republic, and Northwest Airlines, from which he retired in 2002. While his children were growing up, he took his family on many flying vacations, and he was proud of encouraging his five sons to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. In retirement, he enjoyed riding his bicycle, volunteering at church and Feed My Starving Children, hosting visitors at their Fort Lauderdale timeshare, and especially giving pontoon rides, playing cards, and visiting with his family at their cabin on Big Watab Lake.
Survived by loving wife of 59 years, JoAnn; children, Tony (Sue) Kremer, Steve (Alma) Kremer, Sue (Scott) Neumann, Teresa Patrick, Mike Kremer, Matt (Carrie) Kremer, and John (Teri) Kremer; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Popp. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30 AM at Church of the Risen Savior in Burnsville. Visitation on Monday, July 25 from 5:00-7:00 PM at White Funeral Home in Apple Valley, and also one hour before the funeral service at church. Military honor burial service immediately following mass at 12:30 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
