Jacob “Jake” Michael Wise, 33, of Northfield, Minnesota, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Jake was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, on April 24, 1993, to Michael and Bonnie Wise. He was the youngest of four children and the beloved baby brother of three sisters who adored him.
Jake graduated from Farmington High School in 2011. From an early age, he had a curious mind and a wide range of interests. He loved classic rock, was a talented artist taking a strong interest in chalk and drawing, tinkering with electronics, and gaming. From day one, Jake showed his independent spirit and determination, traits that would remain part of who he was his whole life.
For the past several years, Jake worked for the Northfield Post Office. He enjoyed sharing stories of his unusual delivery experiences and showing off his very tan right arm.
Jake will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, quiet wit, determination, unforgettable laugh, and his hilarious Winnie the Pooh impression that always made his family smile. Jake spent a lot of quality time with his friends and family through the years, and those memories will be cherished forever. His presence was a familiar and important part of the lives of many, and his absence will be felt in countless ways.
Jake is survived by his parents, Michael and Bonnie of North Port, Florida; his sisters, Jamie (Chris) McKnight of Farmington, Amber (Lincoln) Rounsville of Willmar, and Nikki (Brian) Cody of Rosemount; his beloved nephews and nieces, Aiden, Finnegan, Harlen, Arlo, Audrey, Crosby, Riley, Patrick, and Thomas; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends near and far.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernard and Donna Carothers, Nancy Winter, and Eddie and Wanda Wise; his uncle, Thomas Carothers; and his beloved dog, Meike.
A funeral service will be held at White Funeral Home in Farmington, Minnesota, on September 18. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Northfield Hospital + Clinics Cancer Care Fund.
