James (Jim) Duff,Died July 7, 2026, in Fariview Southdale Hospital, 8 days before his 85 th birthday.Bruce and Winnifred (Winnie) Duff … came home to brothers Dan. Jim Attended St. Mathias parochial school in Hampton and graduated from Randolph High School in 1958 and Completed an Accounting program at Minnesota (or Minneaplis) School of Business Was initially employed as an accountant at Gilbertson feed and grain in farmington for 10 years and later at Dakota Electric Association in Farmington and retired in 1995 after 28 yrs. He then was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 12 years.
He married Mary Ann Reigert on August 21, 1965 …2 children Susan & Patrick, Jim was a lifetime Catholic and devoted member of several different parishes during his lifetime and active member of choirs and cantoring groups and sang at many funerals in the community for 65+ years. One of Jim's proudest and most satisfying activities was his membership and involvement in the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization (dedicated to encouraging and empowering men to build stronger families, parishes, and communities) Based on his active participation and leadership he became a 4th Degree member, the highest level of K of C recognition; and also served as Grand Knight. He was an enthusiastic and committed member who thoroughly enjoyed participating in special church and civic events, while wearing the K of C ceremonial honor guard regalia that consists of a distinctive tuxedo, sash, cape, plumed fez hat, and a ceremonial sword.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann, brother Dan, and sister-in-law Ann. Survived by his daughter, Susan (Geneva, IL), son, Patrick (Wisconsin), and brother and sister-in-law: Tom and Mary (Duluth).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at Mary, Mother of the Church, 3333 E. Cliff Road, Burnsville. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at White Funeral Home (12804 Nicollet Ave) in Burnsville, and for one hour prior to the Mass, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
