Jim Schnoor, age 65, of Rosemount, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2026. He was born October 28,1960 in Moose Lake, Minnesota to Margaret and James Schnoor. 

Survivors include his wife Diane and son Derek (Cara Chilton), sisters Sharon and Mary, niece Teresa and many other beloved family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished son Jacob in 2022.

Following his graduation from Mankato State in 1983, Jim began a 30-year career in law enforcement. He served with the White Bear Police Department as an officer, and later as Acting Sergeant until 1993. He joined the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office where he served in courts and transport, and as a Special Duty Deputy in the civil division. Following retirement in 2010, he continued his life of service as a security officer. Jim was happiest when there was a place to go or something to do. He and Diane built a life together centered on family and friends, travel, and outdoor adventures. He loved horseback riding, bicycling, cruises and RV travel. He shared many miles and memories with his dear friends in the ATV community, especially the South Metro and BS Adventures clubs. Jim was a good friend who will be remembered for his positive attitude, genuine kindness and sense of humor. 

A gathering of family and friends will take place Wednesday, September 16, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, Minnesota. Memorial gifts to the family are appreciated.
