Pogatchnik

Janet Doris Pogatchnik passed peacefully on July 25, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the cherished daughter of Lloyd and Irene Doucette, born in Little Falls, Minnesota in 1927. She spent her early years in the Little Falls/Randall area where, as a child, she became friends with Cecil Pogatchnik. The two would grow up together, marry and build a family while spending a lifetime supporting one another. A devoted wife, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, in 2015. Despite the loss, her strength secured the family's foundation.
Janet was also preceded in death by her brother Kenneth and her sisters Maxine, Cleo and Sue. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she often spoke of them with fondness and nostalgia. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her surviving family: Kay Geva (David),Thomas Pogatchnik (Peggy), Barry Pogatchnik (Carol), Janice Merfeld(Stephen), and Susan Turner (Tom). Her family also includes thirteengrandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who remained near and dear to her.
For years, Janet's family declared her "the winner of the healthcare lottery" and, at ninety-eight, she proved them right. Her life was not only a testament to her strength and endurance, but also a reflection of her kindness and compassion. Her wit and humor welcomed everyone she met. Moments spent with her filled you with the comfort of her warmth and sincerity. She simply loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Janet's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Beehive Nursing Home in Lakeville, Minnesota, for their exceptional care and dedication over the past five years. Their kindness made a significant difference in Janet's life and brought solace to all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Janet's lifelong commitment to others.
As we remember Janet, let us celebrate her life with the same love and joy she shared with us all. Her legacy of compassion and family values will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
