Jean Leone
King
Jan 29, 1941 — Jun 15, 2025
Jean Leone King, age 84, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Her absence leaves a deep void among her large and loving family, but she has been joyfully reunited with her heavenly Father and the many dear ones who awaited her arrival.
Born on January 29, 1941, Jean was married to Allen King on April 3, 1960. Together, they shared 59 beautiful years. Jean was a loyal mother who raised two children, Kimberly (Michael) Siedow of Rosemount and Allen (Cheryl) King of Farmington—each with plenty of wild stories that live on through their own families.
Jean's faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, to be exact, she attended the same congregation for decades. She was also known for her legendary dough gobs and fried chicken with milk gravy, though she rarely felt her baked goods were "just right" (despite universal praise). A competitive spirit at heart, Jean could outplay nearly anyone at the card game "31," dominate a BINGO board, charm slot machines, and negotiate a garage sale like a seasoned professional.
Above all, Jean cherished her role as a grandmother. Her memory lives on in her grandchildren: Michael (Chelsea) Siedow, Ria Grossinger, Marissa (Dillon) O'Brien, Jacob (Dawn) King, Kelsey (Brandon) Larson, and Justin King. She was a treasured great-grandmother to Scarlett, Harper, Paxton, Piper, Levi, Laken, Sloane, Calum, Aidin, Gavin, Natalie, and Brynnlie.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Lucetta, her beloved husband Allen, her sisters Donna, Peggy, and twin sister Joy (Ken) Perryman; her brothers Les (Berta) Miller, Jerry (Ruth) Miller, and Bob (Etta) Miller; and her sister-in-law Mona King. She is survived by her sister, Virginia (Jim) Baisch, and countless extended family members and friends.
The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff of Southview Acres Health Care Center, Dr. Winkelman, and Michelle Vosepjka, NP, for their attentive care. A special thank you to HealthPartners Hospice for guiding Jean and her loved ones through her final days with compassion and grace.
A Memorial Service will be held at White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m., with a Visitation to begin one hour prior to Service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Jean will be laid to rest beside Allen at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
