Jerald (Jerry) William Howland passed away on August 20, 2020 after a long illness. Jerry was born on July 6, 1943 to Donald J. and Mary Howland. He grew up on the farmland of Hallock, in Northwestern Minnesota. Only a few mischievous stories from this period made their way into the family folklore. He entered into the Navy in 1961 and served as an air traffic controller aboard the USS Coral Sea. After the military he continued his career in the Federal Aviation Administration, first as a controller and then as a Plans and Programs specialist. In his later years, Jerry assisted his wife, Beverly, in the operation of their family screen printing and embroidery business. He was a man of two primary hobbies throughout his life: woodworking and photography. In retirement woodworking became his focus, becoming a member of the Midwest Turners Club. He was also heavily involved with Boy Scouts of America, continuing his service long after his sons graduated from the program. As he faced many battles with death, including leukemia, a heart attack, and a brain aneurysm, family became a more significant focus in his life. He imparted his wisdom and love by being involved with his children, allowing them to grow and follow their own paths. He will be missed by them all.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerome, and is survived by his loving wife  Beverly, brother James (Jim), sister Mary-Lou, and children Jerel, Jason and Aubree, Joshua and Michelle, Jeannine, and his many home construction projects that may outlast them all.

For those not comfortable or able to attend, the memorial service will be live streamed.  Here is the link to the public event page to join us remotely:
