JoAnn Lillian Kremer
February 1, 1940 – March 14, 2026
JoAnn L. Kremer, age 86, of Apple Valley, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2026. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; parents, Clair and Lillian Nelson; son-in-law, Todd Patrick; and granddaughter, Hailey Neumann. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
JoAnn grew up in St. Cloud and attended Cathedral High School. She then studied at the St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing, during which time she met her future husband, Frank, at a dance hall. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1961, but only worked at the hospital for a couple of years before finding her true vocation as a full-time mother. For the rest of her life, JoAnn provided continuous love, support, and encouragement for her seven children. Once they started having their own kids, she enjoyed taking her grandchildren out for lunch, shopping, and a movie on their birthdays. JoAnn loved family parties, dancing at weddings, playing cards, building jigsaw puzzles, listening to music (especially Elvis), and drinking Mountain Dew. Every summer was filled with invitations to visit her often at the cabin on Big Watab Lake, because the weather at the lake was always wonderful, even when it wasn't. JoAnn cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything, and loved spending time with people.
Survived by children, Tony (Sue) Kremer, Steve (Alma) Kremer, Sue (Scott) Neumann, Teresa Patrick, Mike Kremer, Matt (Carrie) Kremer, and John (Teri) Kremer; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Denny (Judy) Nelson, and sister, Jan (Dick) Maslonkowski. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 1 at 10:30 AM at Church of the Risen Savior in Burnsville. Visitation on Tuesday, March 31 from 5:00-7:00 PM at White Funeral Home in Apple Valley, and also one hour before the funeral service at the church. Lunch immediately follows Mass at the church, with the burial service beginning at 1:30 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
