Obituary

John David Huddock passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on December 6, 1941, in Clifton Park, St Louis Missouri. John was a wonderful man, loved by all who knew him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, quick with a smile, generous with his time, and genuinely interested in the people around him. Whether it was family, friends, colleagues, or someone he'd just met, John left people better for having known him, and his warmth and kindness are remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched.

John had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, was an avid fan of all types of music, was a tinkerer and woodworker, and had an incredible soft spot for dogs. He had a multitude of friends throughout the years, friends he made in kindergarten and kept throughout his adult life. He was very loyal to those who trusted him, and his love for his family was his priority.

John proposed to the love of his life, Betty, under a streetlamp in Clifton Park, near his home, and they were married on 1-6-61. Their first date was actually a double date with his good friend Jim and his new wife Charlotte. Their children would spend many years growing up together in St. Louis. They started their family in St. Louis and moved to the Minneapolis area in 1977, where he stayed for the remainder of his life. They were married for 63 years. Theirs was a deep and enduring love, the kind that only grows richer with time. John adored Betty completely, and their partnership was the heart of everything he did. Together they built a life in St. Louis before moving to Minnesota in 1977, raising their family on a foundation of faith, devotion, and joy. John was preceded in death by his beloved Betty, who passed on June 23, 2025, and it is a comfort to know he is with her once again. John is survived by his sister Jeanne Payne, who lives in San Monica, CA. John had a close, special relationship with Jeanne, who supported him and communicated daily.

John had a deep passion for technology throughout his life, which shaped the course of his professional career. He spent his working life as a technology entrepreneur, building and pursuing ventures driven by his curiosity and drive to innovate. His dedication to his craft left a lasting impact on those who knew and worked with him.

Beyond his professional life, John loved the water. He was an avid boater, and some of his happiest memories were made on the boat with Betty by his side. Days spent together on the water became a cherished tradition for their entire family, filling their years with laughter, togetherness, and love.

John is survived by his 5 children: Deborah Ann Muszynski, John D. Huddock Jr. (Sue), James Huddock (Julie), Jennifer Alexander, and Michael D. Huddock (Ann); his 14 grandchildren: Samuel and Charles Muszynski, Nicholas Elsenpeter, Benjamin and Abby Huddock, Hailey, Alexander, and Kevin Huddock, Lucas and Kaylin Alexander, and Mikaela, Jace, Jaeger, and Miley Huddock; and his 3 great-grandchildren: Carter and Kaliya Huddock, and Isla Elsenpeter.

John will be remembered for his devoted love for Betty, his love of family, and the warmth and kindness he brought to everyone he met. May his memory be a blessing, and may his love of family, faith, and adventure live on in all who knew him.
