Joseph Richard
Dimmen
Jun 12, 1970 — May 2, 2025
Eagan
Joe Dimmen, 54, passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife Jackie (Schmeling) Dimmen and two sons, Samuel and Vincent, after an 18 month battle with Glioblastoma on May 2nd, 2025. He left quietly, like a man who always knew true love required no noise.
Throughout his life Joe only knew one way to live, keep it simple. He understood the importance of what it meant to be a father. Ever present, always honest and stable. He led with love and modeled how to respect others showing his sons the true meaning of manhood. He set a wider example not only to his sons, but to all those around him, teaching the crucial lesson, that being your genuine self, no matter what, should always be your guiding principle in life.
More than being a father, Joe was a dedicated husband. He knew more than anything how to make Jackie feel loved. They found a deep companionship in their ability to laugh together and find the humor in life as a refuge that carried them throughout their entire time together, in both good times and bad. Joe had an amazing ability to make light of a situation and never let her forget his goofy side. They found joy in the simple things: drinking coffee in the sunshine, picnic lunches on the boat, and long car rides. He loved his wife dearly, deeply, and simply.
'I just want you all to be okay. If you are okay, I've done my duty'. These words of his was all he ever wanted for his boys, his wife, and his loved ones. Joe was one hell of husband, a hell of father, and a hell of a guy. Life without him will not be the same, but we will carry on in his spirit and honor and live the rest of our days knowing how blessed we were to have a man like him in our lives.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Penny; and survived by his father, Larry (Cathy); wife, Jackie; children, Sam (Jana) and Vinnie (Crystal); and beloved granddaughter, Violet.
