Obituary

Joseph James Fellerer, 88, of Burnsville, MN passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, October 10, 2026. Joe was born August 18, 1938, in St. Cloud, MN to parents Joseph and Alice. He attended Perham Highschool and graduated from University of Minnesota with a degree in electrical engineering. Joe met his wife, Maxine while they were both in school, when Joe worked in the kitchen at Maxine’s dormitory. They were married in 1961. After college, Joe went on to work as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin for 40 years, where he worked on air traffic control and navigation systems. Joe was active in his church, going on mission trips to South America, leading holiday services, and volunteering whenever he was able. He was an avid golfer and hiker, but above all he loved spending time with his friends and especially his family.

Joe is survived by his wife Maxine; children Todd (wife Sarah), Tom, and Tim Fellerer, and Tara Hoff; grandchildren Alicia Barron (husband Andy), Josh Hoff, Sam, Casey, Hannah, and Emily Fellerer; great-grandchildren Olivia and Kendrick Barron; as well as his brothers Robert, John, and Jim (wife Jean) Fellerer, and sister Marlene Johnson.

Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday October 14, 2026 at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 1801 Cliff Rd., Burnsville, with a visitation straining at 10am at church. Interment, Pleasant View Cemetery, Burnsville. Memorial donations can be made to the Lutheran Church of the Ascension.
