In Memory of Joseph Peter Valtierra
A Tribute to a Remarkable Life
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Peter Valtierra, aged 81. Joseph's life was a testament to perseverance, love, and resilience. Before his life-changing accident, Joseph was an avid sports enthusiast who found great joy in umpiring softball and making unforgettable memories with his beloved grandchildren. His energy and passion enriched the lives of everyone around him.
Though an accident left Joseph as a quadriplegic, it could never diminish his unwavering spirit. He faced challenges with courage and inspired those around him with his strength and ability to find light even in the darkest moments. Joseph became a beacon of hope and encouragement, demonstrating that even in adversity, life can be lived with dignity, kindness, and purpose.
Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, MaryAnn (Sanchez), beloved son, Joseph "J" (Penalope), his cherished grandsons, Justin (Madelyn), Matt (Riley), Mark, and Jack. He also leaves behind his sister, Emily. He also leaves behind his nephews, Lyle Sanchez, Toby and Mario Reyes and many nieces and nephews whose lives he profoundly impacted. Preceding him in death is his beloved daughter, Anna Marie, whose memory he carried with him always, as well as his mother and siblings.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Trinity Homecare and the exceptional caregivers—Esme, Sara, Christy, and Yannie. Their devoted care and compassion forged a special bond with Joseph over the years, enriching his life in immeasurable ways. We are forever grateful for the kindness and dedication they shared with him.
Joseph's enduring legacy of strength and love will remain in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Joseph will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.
Memorial service will be at a later date.
