Joshua Owen Ruedy, age 23 of Bloomington, MN formerly of Lonsdale, MN passed away on May 29, 2026 after a motor vehicle accident. Joshua was born on August 27, 2002 in Burnsville, MN to Gary and Michelle (Pilny) Ruedy. He was a 2000 graduate of New Prague High School. After High School Joshua enlisted in the Marine Corp where he graduated from boot camp at the top of his class. He also earned the distinguished Meritorious Mast Award for continuous outstanding job performance.

Joshua is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger and Edie Ruedy, and his future mother-in-law Jacqueline Maines, who also passed away in the accident. Joshua is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Michelle; sisters, Allison (Matt) Wortman, and Madeline Ruedy; nephew and nieces, Aydan, Alexis, Reygan, and also by his significant other and the love of his life, Erin Maines and her father, Thomas Maines.

Joshua had a heart of gold and was a friend to all. He was kind, generous and compassionate and would help anyone who needed a hand. His energy and joy would light up a room and he was sure to leave you with a smile.

Funeral Service for Josh will be held 11 AM Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Historic Trondhjem Lutheran Church, 8501 Garfield Ave S. Lonsdale, MN (Webster Township) with a visitation starting at 10 AM. Interment, Church Cemetery. We invite you to join us at our home for a luncheon to remember Josh and share memories after the service.
