Julie M.
Johnson
Jun 30, 1957 — Dec 2, 2025
Apple Valley
Julie Marie Johnson, Our dear sister Julie passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 2, 2025. Julie was born on June 30, 1957 on her parents' seventh wedding anniversary. She was the middle child of the late Russ and Mary Jo Johnson.
She is survived by sisters, Sue Thomas (John), Therese Andersen (Don). Brothers Jerry (Sue), Marty (Franco), and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Julie graduated from Christ Child School in St. Paul, attended Nicollet Junior High School in Burnsville and the Dakota County Vo-Tech. She was a loyal employee of Burger King for ten years. Julie became one of the first employees of OWOBOPTE (later ProAct) retiring after 25 years. She loved the work and the people she worked with.
Julie loved all things Barbie and music from the sixties and seventies. She was our family's living memory. Julie could remember and identify everything in family photos-people, places and times! Julie was a proud participant in the Special Olympics and Race For The Cure for many years.
She was always ready for an adventure! Going Up North, to a car show or fun (thrift) shopping. Julie was fortunate to have travelled the world - from early pre-teen family trips to Winnipeg, Canada to Thanksgiving in Hawaii, to sunshine and cliff divers in Acapulco, Mexico to holding koalas in Australia. Her favorite place away from home was with mom and dad at their Lake Edward place, and later Cragun's Resort with the indoor pool! She also enjoyed seeing family in California and Florida in the later years.
Julie's other loves included her WOW! Computer, Word Finds, coloring and monkeys. Julie maintained a world class T-shirt collection! She happily added to the collection with her gift cards from her California Big sister Susan. Julie enjoyed over 25 years of Susan G Komen cancer awareness walks every spring with Big brother Jerry. Julie and Little sister Therese enjoyed gardening (and sneaking m&m's) when no one was looking! Baby brother Marty shared decades of neighborhood drives of Christmas lights and Love 105 holiday music...with a classic coke in the car cup holder!
Julie loved her housemates Amy, Cindy, Lisa and Bridget. And Julie was well loved in return! A special Thank You to the staff at Eveleth House and her hospice team. We know she received the best care possible.
Thank you for loving our Sister. Julie will be missed but her unconditional Love endures.
A Celebration of Julie's Life will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, MN.
