Obituary

Kelly Marcia Davis of Farmington, Minnesota went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2025.Born in Albany, California, Kelly's life was marked by a deep commitment to education, faith, and family. She pursued her academic journey with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and later a Master of Arts in Education from Fresno Pacific College.

Kelly was a passionate teacher, beginning her career in Tulare, California where she met the love of her life and naval aviator extraordinaire, Craig Davis, whom she married. Together, Craig and Kelly began raising a family with three of their four children born in California. Later they moved to Minnesota where their fourth child was born and Kelly enjoyed an extended period of time at home with her children. Eventually, Kelly returned to education, joining the Farmington School District where she would remain for 20+ years until retiring in 2019. Throughout her career, she taught both special education and general education students, with a particular passion for teaching sixth grade Language Arts. Her classroom was a place of encouragement and growth for countless students over the years.

Beyond the classroom, Kelly was deeply rooted in her faith community. As an active member of The Well Church in Rosemount, Minnesota for several decades, she served faithfully in numerous capacities including as a Sunday School instructor, welcome desk greeter, committee member, and service project volunteer. One of her most cherished commitments was volunteering monthly at the Simpson Shelter in Minneapolis, where she helped serve meals and offer support to those in need.

Kelly found joy in many aspects of life. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren—moments that brought her immense pride and happiness. Her commitment to her children was unwavering and she cherished the years of her life spent attending their sporting events, recitals, and programs. She also enjoyed traveling to the Oregon Coast, watching college football and basketball (especially Michigan State & Oregon State), and sharing laughter and memories with friends. An avid reader, Kelly also enjoyed quiet moments with a good book and the peacefulness of working in her yard.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Ashley (Seth) Bohlken, Trey (Jessica) Davis, Trevor Davis, and Averi Davis; as well as her grandchildren: Eleanor and Walter Davis, and Everly Bohlken.

Kelly was preceded in death by her beloved husband Craig Davis; her father Bob Herndon; and her mother Marcia Herndon.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched—as a teacher who inspired learning, a mother who loved fiercely, a grandmother who delighted in every moment shared with her grandchildren, and a woman of unwavering faith who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

May Kelly's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
