Kermit Severson, age 90, of Burnsville, MN, passed away peacefully on 7/30/2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Staples, Minnesota, on October 30, 1934, Kermit graduated from high school in 1953 and went on to lead a life marked by dedication to family, community, and hard work. Kermit met the love of his life, Jane, in Lincoln, MN and together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.Their bond was one of deep love and true partnership.Earlier this year, Jane also passed away, and while her loss was deeply felt, the family finds comfort in knowing
they are now reunited. Together, Kermit and Jane raised seven children—Tom, Tammy, Jeff, Todd, Patty, Steve, and Mark—in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and always a few animals underfoot. Dogs, cats, and other pets were a constant presence, reflecting their shared love for animals. Kermit was a dedicated business owner and entrepreneur. He proudly operated Burnsville Sports Center and Golf Car Midwest, earning the respect of customers and colleagues alike through his integrity and tireless work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane; sons, Thomas and Jeffrey; as well as his parents and siblings.
Kermit is survived by his loving children: Tammy (Brian), Todd (Monica), Patty (Darrin), Steve (Jodi), and Mark; grandchildren: Amanda (Eric), Jon (Ericka), Myles (Taylor), Sam, Taylor, Will, and Halle; and great-grandchildren: Isaac, Nora, Hendrix, Cruz, Ledger, and twins Jack and Beau.
Kermit's life was defined by devotion—to his wife, his family, his work, and the values he held dear. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the enduring legacy he leaves behind in his children and grandchildren. A private family service will be held to honor Kermit's
life. Donations may be made to a local animal shelter or charity of choice in his memory.
