Obituary

Kristina Sue Nozal, age 52 of Burnsville, MN passed away on February 9, 2025, after a lengthy fight with cancer. Kris was born on April 14, 1972, in Elkhorn, Wis., to Richard and Laura Nozal, who preceded her in death.

Kris excelled at school graduating from Lakeville High School and later earned a bachelors degree from the University of Tulsa in exercise fitness. She later went on to earn a graduate degree and post graduate certificate in holistic health and integrated health. This love of exercise and fitness launch her nickname "Energizer Bunny".

Following her schooling, Kris enjoyed traveling. She was able to visit 25 national parks, Hawaii and Virgin Islands which kicked off her photography side business 'Natural Awakenings'. In addition to her love of travel she also loved being a pet mom over the years to Cosmo, Runner-ferrets and Tyra and Beauty her cats.

Kris spent much of her time focusing volunteering for organizations which shared her passions in travel, health and love of animals. She volunteered with Best Friends Animal Society, the Wildcat Sanctuary, ad CHAP Thrift Store. She not only volunteered with the MN Brain Injury Alliance, Compassion and Choices she also testified at the state capitol for both causes.

She relished her role in life as a Warrior, Thriver and Christian.

She is survived by her brother, David (Gail) Nozal, and their children, Katherine and Samuel, also by many friends. The ceremony will be held at Hosanna Church in Lakeville, MN, it's located at 9600 163rd St W, Lakeville, MN 55044. on Thursday, March 6th. Visitation begins at 4:30 PM, Service at 5:30 PM. TIhis is a large church, we will be in the Chapel, use door #5, NW side of the church, the doors are labeled, look for signage. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Rein in Sarcoma, Wings of Mercy, and The Wildcat Sanctuary.
