Lee Robert
Rossmann
Jan 30, 1940 — Aug 2, 2022
Burnsville
Lee R. Rossmann, age 82 of Burnsville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 2, 2022. Preceded in death by great granddaughter, Aurora and parents, Lewis and Marie. Survived by his wife 58 years, Jean; sons, Steven, Gregory, Christopher (Thea), and Jeffrey (Julie); grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler, Jonny, Chloe, Andrew, and Joshua; great grandchildren, Tristan and Milo; siblings, Charles (Rita), David, and Susan Rossmann; also survived by other loving family and friends.
Lee was born in Chicago in 1940 and moved to California when he was around 4 years old. After graduating from high school, he worked as a lifeguard on Santa Monica Beach where he enjoyed the sun and all the good times that came with the beach. His time on the beach was short lived when drafted into the Army after the Korea War. He was stationed in South Korea near the 38th parallel of which he had no fond memories to share.
When he returned home from the service, he worked at Great American Insurance company where he met his wife, Jean. He and Jean were married in 1963 in Los Angeles, where three of their four sons were born. Shortly thereafter Lee and his family moved to Minnesota in 1969, where he had his fourth son.
In Minnesota, Lee bonded to Jean's family and gained a little brother in Jean's little brother, Richard. Lee learned the ways of Minnesota including fishing and hunting. Lee was employed at the telephone company for 32 years. He took pride in his work and his biggest accomplishment was helping install the statewide 911 emergency system in Minnesota.
In 1992, Lee retired and moved to their lake home on Big Chippewa near Alexandria, Minnesota. This was his sanctuary where he was able to enjoy 30 years of putzing around. He loved having his four sons, extended family and friends come up and enjoy their time with him.
His legacy will live on in his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved deeply.
May he rest in peace.
