Leota Louise Erickson, age 85 of Burnsville, MN passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. Leota was born on October 16,1940 in Onawa, Iowa to Ival and Elma (nee: Ham) Petty. Leota worked as a secretary when she began her career, and for the last 15 years of her career she worked for AAA as purchasing manager. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and travel the US. After retirement, she spent winters in Texas and summers in Minnesota with her husband John. She was very active in her church's both in Burnsville MN and Mission TX. Leota is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; brothers, Wilferd (Kay) and Chell Rex (Sandy) Petty. She is survived by her loving children, Paul (Evi) Erickson, and Julie Erickson; grandchildren, Bryan (Deana) Erickson, and Apryl Erickson (s/o Taylor Westhusin); great grandchild, Micah, and a baby expected in February. Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday December 13, 2025 at River Hills United Methodist Church, 11100 River Hills Dr., Burnsville with a gathering of family and friends starting at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to River Hills Church, or a church of donor's choice in Leota's name.
