Obituary

Lori Kay Wagner (Herlitz), of Apple Valley, MN, was an extraordinary mother, grammie, sister, daughter and friend. In 1996, Lori was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Disease. After a long, courageous battle with RA she left this world suddenly at the tender age of 58 surrounded by her three children.

While Lori's kids were young, she stayed home to raise them. Months after her mother unexpectedly died and her youngest child was born, she bravely started nursing school and obtained her RN license where she worked at Fairview Ridges for 18 years. She loved being a nurse and was forced to retire young due to her health. Lori thrived when spending time with her family, practicing as an RN, gardening, decorating, reading, and diving into solving several true crime cases. Lori's greatest comfort and fulfillment in life was her 6 grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy in life and they brought her comfort when needed the most. Lori prayed day and night for her youngest daughter struggling with infertility.

Lori loved her family more than anything. All 3 of her kids stepped up and have been taking care of her for the past several years. She had the best care and was surrounded by love even in the hardest of days.

As so many recognized, her spirit was so much stronger than her pain. Her children plan to honor the courageous, selfless life she led. She will be deeply missed!

Lori is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Kelly. She is survived by daughters Lindsay Solie (Joshua), Abbigail Wagner (Corey), son Jacob Wagner (Ashley). Grandchildren Riley, Skylar, Piper, Sullivan, Hailey, and Levi. Father Walter Herlitz (Terri), Step Father William Kelly (Lois). Brother James Herlitz, sisters Jennifer Waldroff and Christine D'Arrigo (Dana); ex-husband and friend, Timothy Wagner, also by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
