Margaret "Margie" Jean Svien of Farmington died Monday March 16 2026. Margie was born September 1, 1944 in Austin Minnesota to Walter VanRyn and Eveleen (Almendinger) VanRyn. On July 11, 1964 she married Thomas Svien the love of her life, and who she is now reunited with.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracie (Rob) Roberge of Randolph; sons, Thomas (Heather) Svien of Nashville Tennessee, and Tony (Tracy) Svien of Big Lake Minnesota. 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Marion Koss, and Aloma Wilde; brothers, Rick VanRyn, Bob (Pat) Hambright, Annabelle VanRyn, and very special nieces, Betsy and Amy Koss along with nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, parents, sister Donna; brother, Joe; godson, Erich VanRyn, and some of her dearest friends.

Internment late spring at Calvary Cemetery, Austin

Celebration of Margie's Life will be held on May 11, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Celts Pub, 200 3rd St.,  Farmington, MN
