Maria Elena Case-Nordstrom, age 42, of Rosemount, MN, passed away October 29, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and by two miscarried babies. She is survived by her beloved husband Joe; children Raylan, Lizzy, Christopher, and Isabella; parents Barton and Nancy Case; brother Craig Case and wife Valerie; sister Anna Case Ives and husband Dan; brother William Case and wife Sara; nieces and nephews Gideon, Ruby, Leah, Felicity, Brett, Andrew, Aaron, and Harrison.

Maria was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on June 18, 1983. She grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and first made a decision to trust Christ as her savior at a neighborhood Bible club. Maria was homeschooled throughout her elementary and high school years and developed a great love for music. She briefly attended Pensacola Christian College and eventually moved to Burnsville, MN, where she worked at Lunds and Byerly's. She and Joe Nordstrom were married on September 8, 2016, and they recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. For several years Joe and Maria have been residents of Rosemount. Maria worked at First Baptist School of Rosemount in the K3 program for the past five years and was a devoted teacher to her students. She had many friends in the church and school and will be dearly missed by both family and friends.

There will be a memorial service for Maria at First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path W, Rosemount, MN, on Tuesday, November 4, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour before. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist School of Rosemount or to the Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation.
