Koester, Marita A. (Langmeyer)

Age 93 of Burnsville, MN passed away March 16, 2026.

Preceded in death by husband Jerome, parents Edward and Molly Langmeyer, brother Charles Langmeyer and sister Alice Tobens.

Survived by her children Ned (Deborah), Nicholas (Barbara), Lori, Eric (Celeste) and Lynee; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren (and an 8th on the way) and several nieces and nephews.

Anyone visiting Marita's house was greeted with a smile at the door and a "Did you eat?"  Everyone had to eat something when there.

Her life centered around family and raising five children, but she found time for other interests.  She was a devout Catholic, and her faith carried her through life.  She liked meeting and talking with anyone, played piano and accordion, volunteered at the church and the hospital, both which she much enjoyed with the friends she made there.  She enjoyed lunches out with "the ladies" and enjoyed trips to Japan (with her sister Alice) and to Nevada and Mexico with Jerome.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church in Burnsville.  (Mary, Mother of the Church lower-level Chapel.   Please enter the parking lot at the lighted sign and enter Door #1.)

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to your favorite charity.

Graveside services at Fort Snelling Cemetery at 2 p.m. privately for family only.
