Aved, Marlys (Drentlaw)Age 83 of Burnsville, passed away June 26, 2026 Preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Gwen Drentlaw, her sister Janet Mueller, and brother Dale. Survived by husband Barry, daughters Andrea Stewart, Nicole Badeau (Kurt), Danielle Aved (Oscar), Rachelle Aved, grandchildren Barry Badeau, Sydney Badeau, Gage Badeau, Drew Stewart, Haley Stewart, Asher Ramos-Aved, Coby Ramos-Aved,Oscar Pinto Gonzalez, Manuel Pinto Gonzalez, and siblings Cyril Drentlaw, Nancy Swanson, Dean Drentlaw, and Robert Drentlaw.

Marlys was the love of my life. She was a caring, loving, compassionate wife, daughter, and mother. She was strong and independent with opinions and the willingness to share them. Likewise she raised her four daughters to be independent, self-sufficient, and strong willed. Moving to new locations multiple times, she was able to make each one into a comfortable home for her children and extended family. Twirling makeshift ropes, teaching her girls and a driveway full of neighbor kids to double Dutch jump rope. Her love for shopping, her family, and gift giving was evident on birthdays and Christmas. Her philosophy of a full belly, full heart was experienced by everyone who attended her family gatherings, and nobody ever left hungry or without the need to loosen their belt. Her gift of gab played important roles in the lives of her daughters who lived distances away, and she always had time for hours of phone calls. She cared for her parents for a decade before facing cancer twice, and then Lewy body dementia which robbed her slowly of her favorite passtimes of crossword puzzles, scrabble, reading books, playing cards, and cooking for family gatherings.
