MARTHA SIGRID HAUGEN GUSTAFSON

Martha Sigrid Haugen Gustafson died peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 91.  She was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Berge and Magdalena Haugen on April 15, 1934.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Johanna Wille, Sylvia Chadwick and Margaret Fevold and her brother, Mervin Haugen.

She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1952.

Martha married Thomas Gustafson in July of 1956.  She was proud of her Norwegian ancestry and displayed many Norwegian artifacts throughout their home.  She especially enjoyed baking Norwegian delicacies like Krumkake, Lefse and Kringla.

Martha excelled in racquet sports from winning her junior high school ping pong championship to numerous racquetball trophies, and many years of playing and winning on different tennis teams.  She enjoyed traveling the USA in their motorhome and overseas on various trips.

After Tom retired, they spent 35 winters in Fort Myers, Florida and the rest of the year in Eagan and Apple Valley, Minnesota.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; children, Steve (Beth) Gustafson, Barry Gustafson (Jill), and Amy (Dave) Howard; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) King, Daniel (Bethany) Gustafson, Sarah (Kasen) Rumpf, Joseph Gustafson and Tucker (Rebecca) Howard; greatgrandchildren, Caroline King, Owen Gustafson, Melvin Rumpf, Rollins Rumpf, Oliver Gustafson, Matthew Howard and Crosby Rumpf.

She will be dearly missed.
