Obituary

Mary Ellen (Perron) Billmeyer, a devoted wife, loving mother, and deeply cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on April 21, 2026.

Mary Ellen was born to Elmer and Amanda Perron on May 15th,1942, and was raised with a strong sense of responsibility from a young age. After losing her mother at just nine years old, she learned early what it meant to care for others. In high school, she was named homecoming queen, long before she built a life defined by hard work, strength, and devotion to her family. That quiet strength, resilience, and work ethic stayed with her throughout her life and shaped the incredible woman she became.

She was the beloved wife of the late Larry Billmeyer, with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and unconditional love. Their home was centered around family, laughter, and togetherness.

Mary Ellen was the heart of her family. She devoted her life to raising her six children; Bradley, Brenda, Brian, Beth, Brett, and Barry and later poured that same love into her grandchildren. She was always there, always giving, and always making sure everyone else was taken care of before herself.

She was known for her incredible baking and cooking, which became a language of love for her family. There were always fresh cookies waiting when the kids got off the bus, and no one ever stopped by without being offered something to eat. Even when she didn't have all the ingredients, she would find a way to make something work. Her homemade buns and coffee cakes became family favorites, especially during the holidays when she would wake as early as 3:00 a.m. to make sure everything was ready. She also shared her talents by creating several beautiful wedding cakes, adding a special touch to some of life's most meaningful celebrations.

Mary Ellen was rarely still. She was often outside by 6:00 a.m., working in her yard or tending to her garden, and many days she would stay out there from morning until evening. She found purpose in hard work and took pride in everything she did. Whether inside the home or out in the yard, she was always busy, always moving, and always doing something for someone else.

Her life was defined by quiet acts of love; meals made, hands helping, time given, and sacrifices made without ever asking for recognition. She created a home where people felt safe, welcomed, and cared for. That was her gift.

Mary Ellen will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. She will also be remembered for her great sense of humor and the grin that so many knew and loved, one that brought warmth, reassurance, and often a bit of laughter.  She will be deeply missed by her children, her grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Survived by her children: Bradley, Brenda (Steve) Bloomstrand, Brian (Lori), Beth (Bryan) Ordorff, Brett (Dani), and Barry (Nikki); 26 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren: also by other loving relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Billmeyer; her parents, Elmer and Amanda Perron. grandchildren, Brent Marcus and Emilia Keltgen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (13900 Biscayne Ave) Rosemount, MN, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. on May 18. 2026, with interment private and a luncheon will be held following the service.
