Obituary

Mary Lee Porwoll of Rosemount, age 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Mary Lee was born on March 28, 1929, to Leland and Laurene (Hassler) Flory. She grew up with a deep appreciation for faith, family, and service to others—values that remained with her throughout her life.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Edward; her son, Daniel; her siblings, Donna, Jon, and Dick; and her brother-in-law, John Collison.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Mary Pat Stockwell and her husband, Rick; John Porwoll and his wife, Jenny; Joanne Porwoll; Dave Porwoll and his wife, Karen; and Christian Porwoll. daughter-in-law: Debi Porwoll. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister, Pat Collison; along with many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Mary Lee dedicated many years to caring for others as a registered nurse. She worked in Hastings, Minnesota, as well as in other nursing assignments throughout her career. She truly loved being a nurse and found great fulfillment in helping others with compassion, kindness, and a gentle heart.

In her free time, Mary Lee found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who rarely passed up a good book and enjoyed challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She loved baking for family and friends and spent countless hours crocheting and creating beautiful needlework that will be treasured for years to come. A devoted woman of faith, Mary Lee generously volunteered at her church and throughout her community, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed.
