Our Loving Mary, age 74, resident of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully at The Moments in Lakeville, at noon on March 21, 2025, with her husband of 42 years, Steven Roers religiously by her side.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Lloyd and Lillian (Zavadil) Olson: and two brothers, James (Rudy) Olson, Michael Olson.

Mary was a very caring, giving, joyful person who gave unconditional love to her family and people around her. She had such a gentle sole with a beautiful smile to match, that would brighten up any room that she would walk into, but there was also the funny side of Mary that loved to joke around and make others smile.

Born June 28, 1950 in Alexandria, MN, Mary had gone to the Technical College for Computer Programming and then from there she worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she met her husband, Steve. After that, Mary went to work for Honeywell as a programmer analyst for 23 years. While working there, she attended Augsburg College to get her Bachelor's of Art Degree and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.

When Corporate Honeywell moved East, she retired at age 55 years old, at that time, she worked part-time at Dakota Woodland for years. Mary also concentrated more on spending time with her granddaughter, Ashley and her volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity, Church, 360 Community (CAC), Loaves & Fishes and other places.

Mary was an avid exerciser who went to the YMCA, walked, ran and biked often. She also liked fashion, eating healthy, reading books, needlepoint, sewing, cleaning and spending time with family.

Survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve, daughter Lisa (Doug) Southwick, granddaughter Ashley (Friend Kevin) Winecke, sister Carol (Dave) Funk; brother Tom (Kathy) Olson, many other relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Mary, Mother of the Church, located at 3333 Cliff Road E., Burnsville, MN at 10:00 am and the Service will start at 11:00 am. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception will be held at The Moments - Westwood Hills Clubhouse at 12:30 pm, 16258 Kenyon Ave. Lakeville, MN.
