Michael Charles Basler, age 57 of Lakeville, MN, passed away September 4, 2025. Michael was born on October 4, 1967 in Menomonee Falls, WI. Michael was a 1985 graduate of Arrowhead High School. After graduation he attended Waukesha County Technical College where he studied design. At the time of his passing, he worked at Cub Foods Lakeville South as the Floral Dept. Manager.
Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Necmiye (nee: Lok) Basler and sister-in-law, Kimberly (Mark) Basler. Survived by brothers, Mark Basler and Paul Basler; sister, Theresa (Dave) Midlikowski; nephews, Nathan Basler, Andy Basler, Ben (Becca) Midlikowski, and Sam (Amanda) Midlikowski, and great nephew, Edmond Midlikowski.
Michael had an eye for design and was incredibly creative. He was an avid gardener, bringing his artistic talents to life with beautiful gardens and landscapes for himself, family and friends. Michael proudly shared his floral designs which were always stunning. Early on, Michael took an interest in sewing and brought that talent with him in his design career. He moved to Minnesota over 30 years ago to pursue his career as an event planner and floral designer. His creative vision transformed many event spaces as well as wedding venues. His talents were also featured in DIY design books where he served as researcher and designer as well as on tv, most recently on an episode of Love Is Blind where he was a design assistant. Michael never hesitated to help a friend or family member with questions about décor. He loved sharing his thoughts and ideas.
Michael loved music. He was involved in choir in high school and was a self-taught pianist. Michael also had a love for cooking. His mom's influence in the kitchen continued throughout his life. Michael, Mark, Paul and Theresa would often share recipes and pictures of the meals they were making with each other. Michael enjoyed hosting friends and family for birthday celebrations or holiday get togethers. Michael was a loyal Minnesota Vikings Fan. He proudly displayed Vikings photos and memorabilia in his home.
Michael carried a great love for Hennepin Healthcare, where he was a patient and advocate for Addiction Medicine. He generously served as a community member on a patient advisory committee and was well respected. Michael spoke passionately about his medical care and how he was always treated with compassion and dignity by all Hennepin Healthcare staff. Michael brought his great love for people everywhere and people loved him back. Michael was a kind, gentle man, with a clever and quick sense of humor.
Michael's family is asking in lieu of flowers or gifts, that friends consider a donation to the Center for Addiction Medicine at Hennepin Healthcare to support others.

A Celebration of Life to share stories and remember Michael will be held at White Funeral Home, 21034 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, MN on Monday, November 10th from 10am-1pm.
