Patricia Mary (Byrne) Thurmes

Age 86, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Jessica Eve Stong; and siblings Francis, Raymond, Margaret Larson, Agnes Broulliard, John, Leo, and Grace Fontanini.

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Eugene; children Daniel (Joni), Gary (Nina), Gene (Theresa), Jacqueline (Gary) Tonn, Renee Thurmes, Terry Patricia (Edward) Stong, Brenda Thurmes, and Jennifer Hansen; beloved grandchildren Todd (Nicole) Thurmes, Karissa (David) Zimmermann, Nichole (Grant) Schmidt, Melissa (Steve) McDonald, Jeremy (Megan) Tonn, Joshua Tonn, Shawna (Lance) Sietsema, Brian (Clare) Stong, Jeffrey (Cristina) Stong, Angela (Michael) Britt, Emily Stong, Nolen Hansen and Jase Hansen; 22 cherished great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Steve Fontanini; sister-in-law Joan Thurmes; Christopher Hansen; along with many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Patricia was born to Frank and Agnes Byrne as the New Year's baby of Dakota County in 1939. She graduated from Lakeville High School and was ever a very proud Panther even coordinating the Golden Grads reunions in her later years. She spent many years as a homemaker though eventually joined the work force as an office manager for Sanford Memorial Hospital. She retired as a claims adjustor for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. Patricia cherished exploring her family's Irish heritage through genealogy and travel. In retirement she devoted herself to serving others as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Samaritan Minister at St. Michael's Catholic Church and while leading the Rosary at local senior care centers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 22120 Denmark Ave, Farmington, MN 55024. Visitation will be held from 5:00–8:00 PM on Monday, September 29, 2025, at White Funeral Home, 901 3rd St, Farmington, MN 55024, and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 19795 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville, MN 55044.

Patricia will be remembered for her deep love of family, her steadfast faith, her kindness and wit, and her unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She will be greatly missed.
