Obituary

Moylan, Patrick M. (1945-2025)

Age 79, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by his devoted children.

Patrick, known affectionately as "Pat," was born in Winona, MN, on December 15, 1945. He was the son of the late Leo and Mary (Schneider) Moylan and the only child of the family. After the untimely death of his father, Pat was raised by his mother in Rochester, where he attended Catholic grade school and graduated from Lourdes High School in 1963. He cherished his youthful summers spent in Glen Ullin, North Dakota, where he created lifelong memories with cousins and enjoyed countless days of fishing.

After high school, Pat earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary's University in Winona and later pursued a Master of Science degree in biology from the University of North Dakota. His passion for education led him to Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as an assistant professor. Over time, however, Pat found his true calling in the business side of the healthcare industry, launching a successful 30-year career in healthcare administration. He began his journey at the American Heart Association and was later recruited to Park Nicollet Healthcare System, where he played a key role in its growth and development. As Vice President of Park Nicollet, Pat was widely respected for his leadership, particularly his commitment to empowering women in highly regarded doctoral and attending roles. He also played an instrumental role in the merger of Methodist Hospital and Park Nicollet.

Above all, Pat was devoted to his beloved wife, Patty. Together, they spent over 40 years raising their children, traveling, and enjoying the company of treasured friends, including the Gravatt and Balint families. In their retirement, they were blessed with 13 wonderful years in Naples, FL, where they were frequently visited by their children, grandchildren, and friends.

Pat's memory will be cherished by his loving children: Jennifer (Jeff) Schwartz, Sara (Mark) Froemke, and Colin (Alyssa) Moylan, as well as his grandchildren: Tyler, Caden, Oliver, Lucy, Adaline, Seamus, and Matilda.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025, with a ceremony to follow at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
