Obituary

Patrick James Wiles, 65, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.

Patrick was born on September 11, 1960, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Beverly and Wylie Wiles. He spent his life in Minnesota, living in Brooklyn Center, Apple Valley, and Robbinsdale, where he built lifelong friendships and touched countless lives through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others.

A 1980 graduate of Apple Valley High School, Patrick excelled as a wrestler, earning numerous honors during his high school career, including a Minnesota State Championship. Wrestling taught him the discipline and determination that became hallmarks of his character throughout his life.

Following high school, Patrick attended college in Bozeman, Montana. He later served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a reflection of the faith that remained an important part of his life.

In 1992, Patrick began his career with Ford Motor Company at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul, Minnesota. He later transferred to the Ford Motor Company Parts Distribution Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where he proudly served as a dedicated employee, a loyal member of the United Auto Workers, and a respected shop steward. He cared deeply about his coworkers and was always willing to stand up for others.

Patrick's love for family and friends knew no bounds. He was the beloved son of Beverly Pannkuk and the late Wylie Wiles; a cherished brother to James (Brenda) Wiles, and sisters to Mary (Matt) Nealey, and Jan (Steve) Dritsas; and a devoted uncle to Jason (Chia) Knoll, Angela (Chad) Larson, Justin (Jen) Wiles, Brittany Wiles, Travis Freeman, Logan Freeman, Ryan Jowett, and many other extended family members and dear friends.

Those who knew Patrick will remember him as a gifted storyteller with an endless curiosity about the world. He loved learning new skills, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing what he discovered with others. He was a patient listener, a compassionate mentor, and a loyal friend whose generous heart made everyone around him feel valued. He had a remarkable talent for finding the best bargain, delighted in shopping adventures, and was known for selecting thoughtful gifts that made others feel special.

Patrick embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved swing dancing, creating beautiful stained-glass artwork, attending live music performances, exploring musical instruments, and making annual trips to the Minnesota State Fair. His adventurous spirit inspired those around him to try new things and appreciate life's simple joys. Patrick also spent time as a caregiver to his mother in between all of his hobbies.

Among his family's favorite memories are the Christmas seasons when Patrick would dress as Santa Claus, bringing excitement, laughter, and magic to his nieces and nephews. He constantly put others before himself, always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply be present when someone needed him most.

Though he is no longer with us, Patrick's legacy of generosity, compassion, curiosity, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
