Peggy Marie Schmitt, age 62, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully at The Good

Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights on September 21, 2026. She was born on

October 24, 1963, in Charles City, Iowa, to Aloysius and Elizabeth (nee Schweiger)

Schmitt. Peggy graduated from Charles City High School and earned her Respiratory

Therapy Associate of Science degree from Rochester Community College/Mayo Clinic.

She later received her Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of

Minnesota, Carlson School of Business (Mpls), and dedicated many years of her life to

working in the healthcare system.

Peggy found special joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. She cherished

spending time with family and friends, tending her garden, and baking for the people

she cared about. Her dogs held an especially dear place in her heart, and the love and

companionship they shared brought her great happiness throughout her life.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Laurie Turgeon and Ruth

Hart; and her beloved K-9 companions, Buddie, Hawkeye, and Bear. She is survived by

her loving siblings, Connie (Dean) Schaaf, Mike (Linda) Schmitt, Tom (Tracy) Schmitt,

and John (Rachelle) Schmitt; many nieces and nephews; her brothers-in-law, Jim Hart

and Darren Turgeon; and her K-9 friend, Cooper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at

the Church of St. Michael (22120 Denmark Ave., Farmington, MN). A gathering of family

and friends will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at St. Michaels

Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials will be donated to the Good Samaritan Society.
