Phyllis "Fefe"
Claire Zielke
Dec 19, 1932 — Feb 5, 2025
Burnsville
Phyllis "FeFe" Zielke, age 92 of Burnsville, MN passed away February 5, 2025 surrounded by family after a battle with Alzheimer and pneumonia.
Phyllis was born December 19, 1932 in Wichita, KS. Soon after, her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They lived there for several years and then moved back to Wichita to settle on Hiram Street with family around them. Phyllis's grandparents lived next door and her aunt and uncle lived across the street. She went to grade school and junior high in Wichita and was very involved in Girl Scouts as she grew up. She attended high school at North High in Wichita. Phyllis was very active in high school playing the clarinet in the marching band, piano, painting, writing, swimming, and was a lifeguard for the City of Wichita. She later attended college at Friends University in Wichita. Went on to work at Boeing Aircraft where she was introduced to Loren in 1954 after his return from the Air Force. They were married in September 1956.
Loren's job took them many places. The family moved to Texas in the mid 1960's and on to Minnesota in 1971. During this time, she was involved in the American Legion where she became Women's Auxiliary Commander. She was also a 50 year member of The Eastern Star/Renaissance Chapter #313, OES. She continued to take college courses, did secretarial work at many locations and continued her passion of art and music.
Loren and Phyllis then moved to Indiana in 1982 and she began work at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. A place that our entire family and friends enjoyed. Phyllis and Loren then returned to their roots in Wichita for a short time to be with both their families after retirement.
Retirement brought them back to Minnesota to be with their 2 children Barb and Steven and their grandchildren. They then bought a cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin. Burnsville and Wisconsin became their final homes traveling back and forth enjoying their retirement and their grandchildren.
Loren passed away on February 9, 1998. Phyllis picked up the pieces and in 2003 bought a condominium at Real Life Cooperative Senior Living in Burnsville. She became very involved organizing and planning many activities at the building, made many good friends and took wonderful trips.
Her last year of life was spent at Valley Ridge Presbyterian Home in Burnsville. She was blessed with great care takers from Valley Ridge Presbyterian and Moments Hospice who took care of her right to the end of her life.
She will be joining Loren at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with a small family service.
Following her burial there will be a Celebration of Life Thursday February 27, 2025 from 4–8 PM at the F3 Lounge and Event Center, 17830 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, MN 55044. All are welcome to attend the celebration. Parking available in the Culvers parking lot and all around the building. Flowers can be delivered to Exuberance Chiropractic office attached to the F3 Lounge and Event Center.
